The complex Halil Bey includes the homonymous mosque of the 16th century, built on the foundations of an early Christian basilica, and the madrassa (sacred teaching). The 8 rooms of madrassa preserved in good condition. In the early of 20th century, was housed a girls" primary education here. In the mosque and madrassa settled refugee families after the Asia Minor disaster. In the decade 1930-1940, was hosted the Philharmonic of Kavalas here, from where the name "Mosque of music".
