Laggons in Samothrace

The famous Vathres of Samothrace are a real monument of nature and they consist of a number of sources, which radiate down from the mountain and form many small waterfalls, which create small natural pools in the rocks and trees. The most famous vathres are those of river Tsivdogianni near Therma, where there is also the starting point for the ascent of Mount Saos. The landscape is of unique beauty and vathres are accessible even for swimming. The most famous is the Gria Vathra. The legend says that once, an elderly woman fell on it and she was found after a long time in the sea.
