The path of Mesoropi
This is a recently formed route of 5,140m., which begins at the village of Mesoropi and ends up in the cave of Voskovrisi, after a 4-hour walk. The path is designed to follow the stream, (with its continuous water flow throughout the year), while nature shares its beauty with the wanderer. Many waterfalls -the biggest one is 7 meters high, wooden bridges and many different kinds of trees, like oak trees, plane trees, bulrushes and ferns. The fauna includes hares, foxes, jackals, wild boars, wolves, hawks and even crayfish in small lakes. The view to the valley of Piereon and towards Mount Paggaio peaks, combined with the sound of water satisfies all the senses while there are many spots for relaxation that are properly tailored along the path. At the end of the journey, the visitor reaches the entrance of the cave of Voskovrisi, a place of stunning beauty: embraced by several meters high cliffs, it transforms into an underground lake in the bowels of Mount Paggaio.
Wanderers need only good company and the appropriate clothing, for it is certain that nature shall excite and charm them.
