Virgin Forest

The presence of significant mountains and forests make up the rich natural environment of the prefecture of Drama. The mountain is located in the central and northern part of it and extends along the Greek-Bulgarian border. It belongs to the Central Rhodope mountain range with its highest peak being this of the Virgin forest in 1,953m. The area is characterized by compact forests that cover 90% of the total area.
